Today was a great day to be a Huskie! Students in Spanish 2 class went to the Detroit Institute of Arts to experience an “Ofrendas” exhibit. This was sponsored by the Mexican consulate in honor of Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). This exhibit not only portrayed traditional DOD ofrendas, but also unique artistic renditions outside the box. They also saw an original mural by Diego Rivera encompassing an entire room representing the Industrial Revolution and diversity in Detroit. In addition, they saw works of art by other famous Hispanic artists like Frida Kahlo, Pablo Picasso, and Salvador Dalí. Thank you to Mrs.Kaczynski for arranging such a great field trip.

Thank you Amy Cole, HR & Project Coordinator of Fullerton Tool for coming to Hemlock High School last Friday for Manufacturing Day. The students received valuable information about careers in becoming CNC operators and CAD designers.
The Homecoming dance will be held this Saturday, October 14th from 7-10pm in the high school gym. We are asking for donations of small bottles of water, individual bags of chips, cookies and fruit snacks. Please drop off donations in the high school office. Thank you!

The kickoff to Homecoming week with the annual "Powder Puff" game starts at 7 pm.... it is not to late to join in on the fun.
The Powder Puff Football Game is this Sunday, October 8th 7:00 $5 cash at the gate- no passes accepted
Hemlock High School Theatre presents "Murder's in the Heir" A Dinner Theatre Experience
There will be a community bonfire following the Powder Puff game this Sunday, October 8th. Firewood donations appreciated.

Now through December 8th we will be collecting new, unwrapped toys for our annual Toys for Tots Drive. The box is located in the high school lobby.
The quiet heroes of the school. They are always the first to arrive each day, clean up messes no one dares to touch and befriend everyone that passes by. Your work is truly appreciated, without you we could not operate as we do. Thank you!

Students created business cards in Mrs. Lockwood's BST class and are preparing for the Michigan Career Quest field trip at Saginaw Valley today.
