Our next Alumni Spotlight features Ryan Michael, a graduate of Hemlock High School's class of 2004, whose high school years were filled with involvement in football, drama club, and weightlifting.
Ryan acknowledges the profound impact Hemlock Public School District had on shaping his worldview and instilling a sense of pride in his hometown. While he fondly remembers a multitude of inspiring Hemlock staff members, two that stand out are Mr. Keith Green, who demonstrated the power of simple gestures in leadership, and Ms. Dana Lockwood, whose versatile teaching skills left a lasting impression.
Among his proudest accomplishments since graduating from high school is attending and graduating from the University of Michigan, earning his Bachelor's and Master of Urban Planning degrees, a milestone that has transformed his life and opened doors to new opportunities. Currently serving as the Vice President of Michigan's Office of Future Mobility and Electrification in Detroit, Ryan is dedicated to shaping Michigan's mobility ecosystem and supporting emerging technologies and businesses.
Reflecting on his time at Hemlock, Ryan cherishes the closeness of the community, a sentiment he now deeply misses. For current Huskies, he offers invaluable advice: Stay curious, as every piece of knowledge holds value, and prioritize kindness and humility in all interactions, as it's the human connection that truly matters.
Ryan Michael's journey from Hemlock High School to a leadership role in shaping Michigan's future exemplifies the profound impact of a supportive community and a foundation built on curiosity, kindness, and pride. We're honored to spotlight his achievements and celebrate his ongoing contributions to his alma mater and beyond.

Due to the pending inclement weather, Hemlock Public School District will be closed on Friday, March 22nd. Childcare will remain open for those with scheduled care.

It's #ThrowBackThursday, and it's March 21st, so we couldn't resist throwing it back to this day last year when our varsity girls' basketball team brought the heat to the Breslin Center and brought home the MHSAA State Championship to their incredibly proud community.

Due to an unplanned power outage, Hemlock High School (only) will be dismissed today at 12:30 PM. We are working to provide students with busing as needed. Our phone system, internet, and email may be intermittent while crews work to restore power.

Support is at the heart of everything we do at Hemlock Public School District. From recognizing achievements to encouraging active participation, we're committed to creating an environment where everyone feels valued and empowered.

It's #TeacherFeatureTuesday and today we're featuring the amazing Ashley Helmer, our ELA teacher here at Hemlock Middle School for the past 7 years.
We wanted you to get to know Mrs. Helmer a little better, so here are some fun facts:
• A song she could listen to on repeat is Someone Saved My Life Tonight by Elton John.
• Math was her favorite subject in school, and she's wanted to be a teacher since she was in middle school.
• We asked her what she hoped her students would remember about her and her class, and she said, "My humor (or at least I hope so!)".
• Her favorite animal is a sloth.
We’re so grateful to have you in our Huskie Pack, Mrs. Helmer!

This week's #StaffSpotlight is on the laid-back Lindsey Morris, one of our Food Service superheroes at Hemlock Public School District for the past several years.
We wanted you to get to know her a little better, so here are some nuggets of information you may not know about her:
• Her favorite part of her job is the people she gets to work with, and seeing the kids!
• As a child she wanted to be in the army, so when she was old enough she served 8 years in the reserves.
• A nickname she's acquired is "Aunt Lyne" (pronounced lin-ney). Her nephew couldn’t say her name when he was younger so that’s what she's been called for years.
• If she won the lottery and decided to give up her position at HPSD, she'd do a lot of traveling.
• Mottos she lives her life by are: Treat others how you want to be treated. You never know what someone has been through, or going through, so always be a listening ear, and if you have the chance make them smile!
• We asked her what accomplishment fills her with pride, and she said, "My children! They are my most prized accomplishments! I am beyond proud of them and how hard they work".
We’re grateful you’re part of the Huskie Pack, Ms. Lindsey!

Embracing the magic of the stage ✨ Our Hemlock High School theatre program is leaving us spellbound once again with their spectacular performance of Singin' in the Rain on this opening night.

☔️ As you break out your umbrella and join us for the opening night of Singin' in the Rain at the Gariglio Theatre, please be aware that there is parking lot construction underway.
For our seniors, we recommend dropping off at the door via the High School loop or utilizing designated parking north of the school at the Hemlock Road entrance. Limited spots are also available in the loop for our senior citizens.
For all others, fear not! Ample parking is nearby, with clear signage to guide you straight to the theatre. Here is a helpful graphic to help you know where to park.
