We're celebrating the incredible kindness that unfolded during World Kindness Week at our elementary schools last week 🌟 Our students participated in the Kindness Chain Challenge, crafting beautiful paper chains that proudly display the heartwarming acts of kindness they shared throughout the week. Each class added links to their kindness chains, marking simple moments of compassion, positivity, and generosity. The class with the most links earned a special treat, making the celebration even sweeter. Way to go, little Huskies! We can't wait to see how long your chains grow in the weeks ahead. #KindnessMatters #HealthyHuskies #HemlockStrong #Since1863

It's #TeacherFeature Tuesday and today we're featuring the charismatic Kaitlyn Shields, a Special Education and MTSS teacher here at Hemlock Elementary. We want you to get to know Ms. Shields a little better, so here are some other fun facts about her: • She shoots archery competitively and has traveled the country for various tournaments. She has been shooting a bow since she was 4 years old and has been shooting competitively since she was 11 years old. • Her favorite subject in school was mathematics. • She could listen to anything by Morgan Wallen on repeat. • Her favorite animal is a dog. • We asked her if there was a quote or saying that she lives her life by, and she said simply: "Go the extra mile, it's never crowded." We’re so thrilled to have you in our Huskie Pack, Ms. Shields! #Huskietastic #Since1863 #HPSDPackLeader #HemlockStrong #HemlockHuskies

It's #TeacherFeature Tuesday and today we're featuring the steadfast Stacey Langworthy, a 2nd grade teacher at K.C. Ling Elementary, who has taught at Hemlock Public School District for 22 years. We wanted you to get to know Mrs. Langworthy a little better, so here are some fun facts about her: • Her favorite subject in school was English. • She has always wanted to be a teacher. • If she won the lottery and decided to give up teaching, she’d open a little bookstore overlooking the ocean. • We asked her what her students may be surprised to learn about her and she shared that she struggled to read and comprehend at a young age. • What accomplishment fills her with pride so far this year? Checking off a bucket-list item by visiting the Grand Canyon. Well, we think you're pretty grand, and are so grateful to have you in our Huskie Pack, Mrs. Langworthy! #Huskietastic #Since1863 #HPSDPackLeader #HemlockStrong #HemlockHuskies

This week's #StaffSpotlight is on the tender-hearted Theresa Morgan, a Paraprofessional at K.C. Ling Elementary who has worked here at Hemlock Public School District for over 20 years. Other than having two nicknames as a child (Mother Nature and Brillo), here are some other nuggets of information you may not know about her: • Her favorite part of her job is when she sees our kids succeeding; she said it just melts her heart. Her least favorite part is not being able to help someone, and feeling as though what she's doing isn't working. • The Disney character she feels best represents her is the grandma in Moana. The love that she has for her grand-daughter is how Miss Theresa feels about all her grand-babies. • Her worst fashion decision was sporting a mullet. • A song she could listen to on repeat is Country Roads by John Denver. • She loves to paint rocks and hide them for others to find. We’re grateful you’re part of the Huskie Pack, Ms. Theresa. Thank you for all you do for our amazing students here at HPSD. #PackLeaders #Huskietastic #BetterTogether #Since1863
