It is with honor to announce Landon Zastrow as one of Hemlock High School’s Top Honors students. He is the son of Leon and Noreen Zastrow. During his time at Hemlock High School, Landon has demonstrated unparalleled dedication, athleticism, and leadership. He has earned 17 different varsity letters and pins, showcasing his commitment to excellence in multiple sports. He has been an active member of both the Student Council and the National Honor Society, demonstrating his leadership and academic achievements.
Landon has earned All-State recognition in Football, and he has been a 4-time District Champion and 4-time State Qualifier in Wrestling. His impressive achievements in both sports have earned him 4 school records, highlighting his exceptional talent and hard work.
Looking ahead, Landon will attend Ohio Northern University to major in Exercise Science. He is committed to play Football for Ohio Northern University, in the fall, a monumental step forward in both his athletic and academic careers.

It is with honor to announce Malachi Johnston as one of Hemlock High School’s Top Honors students. Malachi is the son of Caleb Johnston and Bethany Robison. Throughout his time at Hemlock High School, Malachi Johnston has earned impressive accolades, including 2nd All Conference recognition in #3 Singles for Tennis. He was also a DECA State Finalist in Business Finance, showcasing his academic and entrepreneurial skills. Malachi has been a dedicated member of the National Honor Society and played a key role in the State Champion Robotics Team. This fall, Malachi plans to attend Northwood University to major in Finance, where he will continue to excel academically and professionally.

It is with honor to announce Isabella Curry as one of Hemlock High School’s Top Honors students. Isabella is the daughter of Patrick and Jennifer Curry . Throughout her time at Hemlock High School, she has demonstrated excellence in both academics and athletics. Isabella has been a member of the National Honor Society, showcasing her commitment to academic success. She was part of the Soccer team that secured back-to-back District titles in 2023 and 2024. On the sports field, she has earned recognition as all-district, all-conference, and all-state honorable mention for soccer, highlighting her skills and dedication. Additionally, Isabella was a key player on the Hemlock High School basketball team that secured the State Championship title in 2023, further solidifying her athletic talents. Looking ahead, Isabella will be attending Delta College, where she plans to major in an undecided field. She will continue to pursue her passion for soccer, as she has committed to playing for the Delta College soccer team next spring. With her strong academic record and impressive athletic achievements, Isabella is poised for a bright future both on and off the field.

It is with honor to announce Kassandra Hensler as one of Hemlock High School’s Top Honors students. Kassandra is the daughter of Michael & Tracy Slodowski and Michael Hensler. During her time at Hemlock High School, Kassandra has earned a place in the National Honor Society for two years, demonstrating her commitment to excellence. She was honored with a TVC Sportsmanship Award for her outstanding sportsmanship in tennis. Kassie has also been an active member of the Powerlifting team for three years and served as a Chief Science Officer for one year, further showcasing her leadership skills.
Additionally, Kassandra received the Certificate of Merit from the Society of Women in Engineering at Michigan Technological University, recognizing her potential in the field of engineering. This fall, Kassandra will be attending Michigan State University to pursue a major in Nursing, where she will continue to build on her academic and leadership accomplishments.

It is with honor to announce Dawson Doan as one of Hemlock High School’s Top Honors students. Dawson is the son of Jeremy and Robin Doan. During his time at Hemlock High School, Dawson Doan has earned All Conference Honors in Baseball and was nominated as a Second Team All-State player. Additionally, he was selected to the Second Dream Team for the Saginaw Area, further highlighting his athletic achievements. Dawson is also a proud member of the National Honor Society, demonstrating his commitment to academic excellence. Although Dawson is still deciding on which college to attend, he plans to pursue a career in Computer Science, where he will continue to build on his skills and passions.

It is with honor to announce Samantha Hales as one of Hemlock High School’s Top Honors students. We are excited to celebrate the outstanding achievements of Samantha Hales, daughter of Aaron and Pamela Hales. Throughout her time at Hemlock High School, Samantha has shown exceptional leadership and dedication to both her academics and extracurricular activities. Samantha has served as the Senior Class Secretary, a role in which she has demonstrated her organizational skills and commitment to her peers. She is also an active member of the High School Student Council, serving as secretary and contributing to the leadership of her school community. In addition, Samantha is a valued member of the Optimist Club, where she has worked to make a positive impact in the community.
We are incredibly proud of Samantha’s hard work, leadership, and service throughout her high school career. We look forward to seeing all the great things she will accomplish in the future!

Claire has demonstrated exceptional dedication and achievement throughout her time at Hemlock High School. During her high school years, Claire earned the Academic All-State recognition for her excellence in volleyball. Her leadership extended beyond the court as she actively contributed to her school community through her involvement in both Student Council and the National Honor Society. Looking ahead, Claire plans to pursue a major in Business at Delta College, where she will continue her volleyball career at the collegiate level. Her hard work, commitment, and determination are sure to guide her to even greater success in the future.

It is with honor to announce Lillian Martinez as one of Hemlock High School’s Top Honors students. Lillian is the daughter of John and Diana Martinez. Lilly has excelled in every aspect of her time at Hemlock High School, showcasing dedication, skill, and leadership.
Lillian has earned All-State recognition in both Softball and Track and Field, and has been named an All-State Academic in Volleyball, Softball, and Track and Field. She is a three-time state qualifier in Track and Field and was a key member of the 2023 Softball District Qualifying Team. Her greatest achievement to date is her commitment to play Softball for Valparaiso University in Indiana, a monumental step forward in both her athletic and academic careers. Looking to the future, Lillian plans to attend Valparaiso University to pursue a major in Engineering.

After 30+ years of volunteering and taking tickets at Hemlock High School Prom, Mrs. Lockwood has taken her final dance ticket at Hemlock High School. Thank you for your help over these many years.
