Hemlock High School is excited to announce Senior Brennan Meyer as this week’s Student of the Week! Brennan is known for his positive attitude, strong friendships, and commitment to both his academics and extracurricular activities.
When asked about his favorite part of the school day, Brennan shared, “The part of the school day that I enjoy the most is meeting with my friends from other classes in the commons during late breakfast. I enjoy this the most because I get to catch up with my friends and talk to some of the staff members that are in there like Mrs. Bry and Mr. Boros.” This sense of connection highlights Brennan’s strong relationships with both his peers and staff members at Hemlock High.
Brennan credits Mr. Zolinski, or “Zo,” as one of his biggest inspirations at school. “He has been a great role model and inspiration because he always is nice and says hi to me, and he encourages everyone to be the best they can be.” Brennan’s appreciation for kindness and encouragement shows his thoughtful and driven nature.
Academically, Brennan’s favorite subject is math, and he is active in Hemlock’s athletics program, participating in baseball, basketball, and soccer. In addition to his involvement in sports, Brennan is focused on preparing for his future through the HVAC program at SCC. “As of now, I am enrolled in the HVAC program at SCC, and next year I am planning on doing Co-op. I hope to develop and use these skills to eventually become an electrician.”
Hemlock High School is proud of Brennan Meyer’s dedication to his education and his future goals. We look forward to seeing his continued success both in the classroom and in his future career. #pullthesled

Madelyn has shown exceptional dedication to her education and is an active participant in various opportunities both at Hemlock and beyond. Her enthusiasm for learning and commitment to her future make her a standout student in our school community.
Madelyn expressed her appreciation for the wide range of experiences offered to students at Hemlock High School, saying, “The part I enjoy most about school is getting to experience so many different opportunities throughout school. Becoming involved in all of the opportunities presented to me has helped better prepare me for my future. It helped me to grow my understanding of what my potential is, by attending SCC nursing and being enrolled in Delta Early Middle College through Hemlock.”
In addition to excelling academically, Madelyn credits the teachers at Hemlock for their positive influence on her journey. “One of my biggest inspirations at school has been all of the amazing teachers I have had throughout high school. One of these is Mrs. Bry—she is always smiling and strives for the best no matter the situation, demonstrating how important my education is.”
Madelyn’s passion for her future and goal-driven mindset are evident in her daily work. “I have a deep passion for working towards my future and setting myself up for success every day,” she shared.
Madelyn plans to pursue a degree in the medical field and has already laid the groundwork for this career path. “My current thoughts on a career path are to pursue a degree in the medical field. With this goal in mind, I plan to achieve these goals by continuing to pursue my education at Delta and then transferring to SVSU,” she explained.
Hemlock High School congratulates Madelyn Wenzel on her outstanding achievements and is excited to see her continue to excel as she works toward her future goals. #pullthesled
