Homecoming is this Friday, September 19—kickoff at 7:00 PM at Wallace Field/Krueger Track. A big crowd is expected, so here’s the plan to keep things smooth and safe:
When we’re done (future state): Our long-term parking will stretch from the Water Tower to the Historical Society, with overflow near the North Concession Stand and at other school buildings.
For Homecoming (right now): Some of that future parking is unavailable while we build the Performing Arts Center. Thanks for your patience as we make Hemlock even better.
Shuttles: Free shuttles will loop from outer lots to the stadium gates from approximately 6:40 PM until kickoff.
Accessible parking: Designated accessible spaces will be available near the gates (first come, first served).
Pro tips: Arrive a little early, carpool when you can, follow signage and the directions of our staff and volunteers, and consider drop-off near the outer lots to keep traffic moving.
We’re committed to a safe, fun Homecoming for our students, families, and fans. And if you’re hunting for something to grumble about, taxes are always in season—tonight, let’s save our voices for touchdowns and the halftime show.
See you under the lights—Go Huskies!

This Friday, September 19, we’re dialing in brighter lighting for future night track meets and piloting a supervised play zone—an “auxiliary game at the game” for our elementary and middle school students. Let’s be real: kids have always treated the pavilion like a NASCAR circuit, occasionally clipping the dad balancing three Diet Cokes and a nacho… and splashing that legendary puddle next to the brave mom in white pants (in October—bold choice).
Here’s the plan:
Where: Northwest of Wallace Field
Who: Elementary & middle school students
Supervision: Dallas, HHS senior and all-around good guy who knows names, gives high-fives, and keeps things fun and calm
Gear: Please don’t bring balls—we’ll have plenty
Parents: We still encourage you to watch the game with your kids; this is just a helpful option
It’s a pilot, so we’re learning as we go—thanks for the grace. Brighter bulbs (literally) are on the way. See you under the lights!
