#HemlockHelps | Supporting the Bommarito Family

Please consider helping a special Hemlock family. Hemlock High School will serve as a donation drop-off site to support Brandon and Brie Bommarito—both HHS graduates—following a very serious motorcycle accident. While there are hopeful signs, their recovery will be long and uncertain. Both have undergone multiple surgeries and face significant injuries. It may be several months before they can fully care for their daughters again.

In the meantime, their girls will be with their aunt and uncle, Nikki and Brian, who are opening their home and hearts during this difficult time.

If you’d like to help, here are meaningful ways to support:

• Drop off donations at Hemlock High School (front office).
• Gift cards are especially helpful (groceries, gas, meals, Target/Walmart).
• Notes of encouragement and prayers for healing are welcome.
• If you represent a business or civic group and want to coordinate a larger donation, please contact the high school office at 989-642-5287.

Thank you for rallying around Brandon, Brie, and their girls. This is what the Huskie Pack does—show up for each other.

The Huskie Hype Train Rolled Through 🥁🏈 Today, the middle school bus loop turned into a mini pep rally as our Homecoming court, band, football team, and PomPon squad brought the energy with a bold stroll through campus.

Our elementary and middle school students lined the loop with hand-made signs, cheers, and unstoppable Huskie pride—reminding everyone why Homecoming is more than a game, it’s a whole-pack celebration.

Bring that same energy tonight under the lights as we take on Valley Lutheran—let’s rock this Homecoming weekend, Huskies.

Friday Night Lights: Homecoming Parking & Shuttles — Friday, September 19

Homecoming is this Friday, September 19—kickoff at 7:00 PM at Wallace Field/Krueger Track. A big crowd is expected, so here’s the plan to keep things smooth and safe:

When we’re done (future state): Our long-term parking will stretch from the Water Tower to the Historical Society, with overflow near the North Concession Stand and at other school buildings.

For Homecoming (right now): Some of that future parking is unavailable while we build the Performing Arts Center. Thanks for your patience as we make Hemlock even better.

Shuttles: Free shuttles will loop from outer lots to the stadium gates from approximately 6:40 PM until kickoff.

Accessible parking: Designated accessible spaces will be available near the gates (first come, first served).

Pro tips: Arrive a little early, carpool when you can, follow signage and the directions of our staff and volunteers, and consider drop-off near the outer lots to keep traffic moving.

We’re committed to a safe, fun Homecoming for our students, families, and fans. And if you’re hunting for something to grumble about, taxes are always in season—tonight, let’s save our voices for touchdowns and the halftime show.

See you under the lights—Go Huskies!

Good Neighbors

We’re fortunate in Hemlock to have great neighbors who keep a watchful eye on our schools and our young Huskies. At last Friday’s Tailgate by the Lockwood STEM Center—while the Huskie Express was making its rounds—Mr. Mo Erskine stopped in with a surprise: a hand-built Huskie Express replica.

His gift will be proudly displayed in Mrs. Mulvaney’s SLS display case at HHS. He even crafted a mini version for Diane—because kindness comes in all sizes.

Our sincere thanks to Mr. Erskine and to all our neighbors who support Hemlock students and staff. Your everyday good deeds make our community safer, stronger, and more connected.

Friday Night Lights, leveled up — meet Dallas.

This Friday, September 19, we’re dialing in brighter lighting for future night track meets and piloting a supervised play zone—an “auxiliary game at the game” for our elementary and middle school students. Let’s be real: kids have always treated the pavilion like a NASCAR circuit, occasionally clipping the dad balancing three Diet Cokes and a nacho… and splashing that legendary puddle next to the brave mom in white pants (in October—bold choice).

Here’s the plan:
Where: Northwest of Wallace Field
Who: Elementary & middle school students
Supervision: Dallas, HHS senior and all-around good guy who knows names, gives high-fives, and keeps things fun and calm
Gear: Please don’t bring balls—we’ll have plenty
Parents: We still encourage you to watch the game with your kids; this is just a helpful option

It’s a pilot, so we’re learning as we go—thanks for the grace. Brighter bulbs (literally) are on the way. See you under the lights!
