First Graders used their coding skills to challege one another to program our Bee Bot to the correct word.

Today my Kindergartners started researching their animals for the informational research project. It was so fun to see their excitement!

Happy Administrative Professionals Day! Today we celebrate and show appreciation for the hardworking individuals who keep our schools running smoothly.
We want to take a moment to thank our amazing elementary school secretaries, Jacqui, Kris, and Jill who go above and beyond every day to make our school a better place. From answering phone calls and emails to managing schedules and supporting staff, their dedication and hard work do not go unnoticed.
Thank you both for your commitment to our school community, your kindness, and your endless patience. We appreciate you more than words can express. Happy Administrative Professionals Day, Jacqui, Kris, and Jill!

It's #TeacherFeature Tuesday, and today we're featuring our marvelous MTSS teacher, Aimee Fromholz. While she's currently teaching MTSS at Hemlock Elementary and K.C. Ling, she has spent many years with us as a 1st and 2nd grade teacher.
Aside from having a whopping 23 years invested in our little huskies, here are a few other things you may not know about Mrs. Fromholz...
• If she could be any Disney character, she'd be Belle from Beauty and the Beast (because she loves to read, and always tries to see the best in everyone).
• As a child she always wanted to be a teacher, in fact, she played "school" with her two younger brothers and her dolls.
• If she won the lottery and decided to give up teaching, she would move somewhere warm and become a yoga instructor on a beach. But, as she noted, that's still teaching!
• The quote she lives her life by is: "Everything happens for a Reason".
Lastly, we asked her how she hoped kids would remember her and her classroom, and she said, "I hope my students remember me as being kind, caring, supportive and encouraging. I hope they remember our class as being a safe, learning environment with a sense of belonging". And we are positive they will!
We're lucky to have you, Mrs. Fromholz!

Today's #StaffSpotlight is on Irene Sensabaugh, our Head Custodian at Ling Elementary. She's been a hard-working member of the Huskie Pack for over 15 years, initially as a Paraprofessional, and we'd love you to get to know her a little better...
• You might be surprised to know that she loves to ride a Harley-Davidson motorcycle with her husband.
• Her favorite part of her job is interacting with the kids in the morning at drop-off and during lunchtime in the cafeteria.
• Her least favorite part is cleaning up after sick kids (bless you, Irene!).
• Her nickname as a child was "Spunky".
• She can relate to the Looney Tunes character the Tasmanian Devil as she's always on the move...and moving fast.
• She could listen to the song "Who Am I" by Casting Crowns on repeat.
Hemlock Public School District is grateful to have you in our pack, Irene!

Have a great Spring Break!

Elementary students had a great day with guest author and illustrator Ruth McNally Barshaw on Wednesday.
Known for her Ellie McDoodle books, Ruth talked about her experience with writing and journaling since childhood, and had students draw right along side her as she taught them how to make pictures out of words.
