Mrs. Schmidt and her 4th grade students finished their first coding and engineering project in STEAM this week past week. Working in groups, students wrote an algorithm that included the sounds of a storm and a flashing light to represent lightning. Groups then collaborated to create tents that would stand up to high winds and heavy rain. Here are a few pictures of their works in progress and final prototypes.

The Little Girls Poms Clinic begins today after school. If you signed your student up to participate, they will meet in the Multipurpose Room (our old gym) after school. Practice goes from 2:45pm until 4:30pm. Please send your student with an extra after school snack, a water bottle, and appropriate shoes and clothes. Pick-up will be near the old gym at K.C. Ling Elementary School.

Ms. Helmreich’s 4th grade class had their NFL draft day on Friday. Students did a mock draft and chose an NFL team to follow for the season. They are going to be using their map skills to track team travels every week, prediction skills, and set goals that they will track each week using their math skills. The students are so excited to represent their teams this season! Go Huskies! 🏈
