Pass

In a heartwarming and symbolic celebration, Hemlock Elementary and Hemlock High School came together for the first-ever “Pass the Spirit” event, marking the culmination of the seniors’ final day and the beginning of a new journey for the kindergarten class—the future graduating class of 2037.

This special event served as a “passing of the torch” from Hemlock High School’s graduating seniors to some of the youngest members of the school district. Seniors shared heartfelt advice, inspiring stories, and words of encouragement to guide the kindergarteners through their educational journey. In turn, they exchanged gifts to the seniors as a gesture of thanks and support. Seniors also shared small tokens with the young students, signifying the shared spirit and pride of being a Hemlock Huskie.

“This event was about more than just celebrating the end of high school—it was about connecting generations of Huskies and planting seeds of inspiration,” said Cory Snider, Principal of Hemlock Elementary. “Watching our seniors pass down wisdom and encouragement to our kindergarten students was incredibly moving. This tradition is one we look forward to growing and honoring for years to come.”

“Pass the Spirit” stands as a new tradition in the Hemlock community, highlighting the values of mentorship, school pride, and lifelong learning. With smiles, cheers, and even a few tears, the event underscored the unique bond that ties the Hemlock student body together—past, present, and future.
