Preschool Registration and Open House
Registration is just around the corner! The Hemlock Preschool program is part of the Early Childhood Center which is located at Hemlock Elementary School. We have three classrooms at the center, two of which are multi-age and tuition-based rooms and the third room is a Great Start Readiness program (GSRP). The Great Start Readiness program is a FREE program for qualifying 4-year-olds who meet income guidelines and identifiable risk factors.
Our philosophy is that children learn best through hands-on experiences and play. They are beginning to understand how things work because they are part of the process. They are not just going to be told why, but they will have many opportunities to discover the reason why and see the results. As children learn through play, they will begin to connect their prior knowledge with their new knowledge. It will be these connections that allow them to seek out more answers, test their ideas, and discover how things work.
Preschool Director Megan Bedford said, “We are creating a space, a moment, an experience that helps children develop their sense of self-worth by being valued and respected.”
At the Preschool Open House on Thursday, February 8th, families will have the opportunity to tour the program, ask questions, and to meet our gifted team of educators. Registration will begin at 8:00 AM on Tuesday, February 27th. Registration applications will be completed online, and can be found on our website or social media platforms.
