Pom Camp Recap

The Hemlock Pompon team delivered a standout performance at Mid American Pom Camp, earning the title of Grand Champions after three days of top-level competition. The team placed first in both routine and kickline each day and also earned first place in their originality routine.

In addition to their strong competitive results, Hemlock was recognized for their spirit, leadership, and character. The team was awarded Peppy Pom on Day 1 and named Overall Peppy Pom, honors that reflect their consistent energy and enthusiasm throughout the week.

Hemlock was also voted Most Congenial by fellow teams in the advanced division, highlighting their positive presence and support for others. They received the Knock Your Socks Off Award as well, an award given daily by other teams to recognize standout groups. This honor came from HH Dow Varsity.

Adding to an already successful week, six Hemlock athletes were selected to the Mid American Pompon All-Star Team, an elite group chosen for their talent and potential.

The team’s experience was made even more meaningful by their Staff Sister, a Mid American tradition where each team is paired with a staff mentor. This year, Hemlock was paired with Gracie Oldenburg, a Hemlock alum and former teammate of the current coaching staff, in what was her final year on staff. Her presence made a lasting impact on both the athletes and coaches.

“I’m looking forward to what I know will be a very special season,” said Head Coach Jenna Galonska.

Director of Athletics Angela Pohl added, “This group continues to lead by example. Their work ethic, teamwork, and positive spirit set them apart and make us all incredibly proud. They represented Hemlock in the best possible way.”

The Hemlock Pompon team returns home with awards, memories, and momentum as they prepare for an exciting season ahead.
