🍂 Don’t forget to fall back ⏰

Daylight saving time ends tomorrow, November 1, so remember to set your clocks back one hour tonight. Enjoy that extra hour of sleep, Huskies!

Good things come in small packages.
Big passion does, too. 🎾

Height was never listed as a prerequisite for great coaching—and we’re pretty sure our girls’ tennis coach would have ignored that requirement anyway.

Dean brings heart, energy, knowledge and enough passion to fill an entire tennis court.

🎃 Wishing our Huskie community a fun and safe Halloween!

We hope your night is filled with laughter, treats, and maybe a friendly scare or two. 👻

Enjoy the long weekend! There’s no school on Monday as our staff gathers for professional development. We’ll see you back in class on Tuesday, November 3.

Our littlest Huskies are building bright futures, one block at a time. 🧱 From big imaginations to little hands hard at work, there's no limit to what these young learners can create when they learn through play.

The halls were filled with excitement, the costumes were ready, and the smiles said it all!

Our elementary students took part in their annual Halloween Parade, showing off everything from spooky creatures and superheroes to princesses, storybook characters, and plenty of creative costumes in between.

Teachers joined in the Halloween fun and our youngest Huskies had the chance to share a little bit of their Halloween spirit with everyone watching.

It's moments like these that make an elementary school community so special. A little creativity, a lot of laughter, and memories our students will carry long after the costumes are put away.

A big thank-you to our staff, families, and everyone who helped make the day so much fun!

Happy Halloween, Huskies!

They probably won't remember the worksheet.

Twenty years from now, most students won't remember what they learned on a random Tuesday in seventh grade.

They probably won't remember the vocabulary quiz, the homework assignment, or even what chapter they were reading.

But they'll remember how school felt.

They'll remember the teacher who greeted them with a smile. The principal who wasn't afraid to look a little ridiculous. The staff who dressed up, laughed with them, high-fived them in the hallway, and made school a place they wanted to be.

Because joy isn't a distraction from learning. It's often what makes learning possible.

When students know they are cared for, when they feel safe, when they laugh, belong, and connect with the adults around them, something special happens. School becomes more than a building. It becomes a place filled with memories.

So yes... there will always be lessons to teach, standards to meet, and tests to take.

But there should also be inflatable sharks, giant dogs, fighter pilots, hallway laughs, and adults willing to embrace a little silliness if it means creating a moment a child will never forget.

The curriculum matters. Relationships matter more. And when you can combine both with a little fun... that's where the magic happens.

Our Hemlock High School halls looked a little different today! Students and staff got into the Halloween spirit, showing off their creativity with everything from clever costumes to impressive group themes.

Student Council hosted a Halloween Costume Contest, bringing a little friendly competition and plenty of personality to the school day. It was great to see so many students participate and take the opportunity to have some fun together.

A big thank-you to Student Council for organizing the contest and helping make Halloween at Hemlock High School one to remember!

✨ Congratulations to Koralyne Ragan, our Hemlock High School Student of the Month.

Koralyne, who is a sophomore, is being recognized for her kindness and the positive impact she has on those around her. Her caring nature and thoughtfulness are a great reminder that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference. We’re proud to celebrate Koralyne and the way she helps make Hemlock High School a welcoming place for everyone. ⭐

A little Halloween fun and a whole lot of smiles. 🎃 Our kindergarten Huskies visited Stone Crest Care in Freeland this week to share some Halloween songs and trick-or-treat with the residents.

We love seeing our littlest learners spread a little joy and make connections with our community!

Huskie Hutch has seen a thing or two over the years. And apparently, he's got a little wisdom to share.

Opinions are plentiful. A little kindness never goes out of style.

We can disagree without being disagreeable, have different perspectives without making things personal, and remember that at the end of the day, we're still neighbors.

And remember, our kids are watching how the adults behave.

To our Huskie family; thank you for your trust, your grace, and your constant encouragement.

In a season when it’s easy for the noise to overshadow what matters most, we’re grateful for the people who continue to believe in our schools, our students, and the next generation. Your support for our students and staff makes a difference, and it’s a big part of what makes Hemlock such a special community.

We’re proud of where we are, grateful for the people and community organizations who helped us get here, and even more excited for where we’re going. Thank you for being part of the Hemlock story.

🎃 Five Little Pumpkins… and a whole lot of engineering.

Our first graders brought the classic poem to life with a LEGO gate-building challenge at Lockwood STEM Center! Students explored different types of engineers before stepping into the role of structural engineers, designing and building gates strong enough to support their pumpkins.

A little fall fun, a lot of creativity, and some hands-on problem-solving!

Members of Hemlock's Gray Matter team headed to Lansing last Thursday for the 2026 Student Association for STEM Advocacy Conference.

Students learned about the 99H Grant, which helps fund robotics teams across Michigan, and how to advocate for continued support of these important funds. They also met with staff from Representative Tim Kelly’s office to share why keeping these resources available matters for robotics teams like theirs.

Way to represent Hemlock and advocate for STEM opportunities!

Who knew a handful of fall leaves could inspire so much creativity? 🍁 Ms. Lauren’s preschoolers gathered nature’s treasures on a fall walk and used them to create their own colorful collages. A little outdoor exploring goes a long way!
