Fiscally Responsible

Hemlock Public School District annually has a third party complete an in-depth audit of the school district's financial statements. A team from Weinlander Fitzhugh Firm is onsite conducting the annual audit this week.

Board President Matt Wesener said, “We recognized years ago that fiduciary responsibility was fundamental to first stabilizing then growing and adding opportunity within the district.  It hasn’t been an easy journey and it has required commitment from all within the district for us to reach this point.”

The school district has made being fiscally stable a top priority. As we work to preserve and enhance programming for students and create stability and opportunity for wage increases for our support staff and teachers knowing the district's bargaining agreements are married to the financial stability of our school system.

The district's efforts to improve business protocols, procedures and cash flow have paid dividends with an unprecedented investment in programming, tools, staffing, and more. The improved fiscal state has translated into more than just enhancements; but also, has positively impacted the school culture as well.
