Surveying, Boring & More

Hemlock Public School District is preparing for a series of major projects starting in the spring of 2023. The current slate of projects by building:

  • Hemlock Elementary site work (moving the playground, adding a parking lot, and more), updating the corridor, gymnasium floor, acoustical tile, cafeteria update, and more.
  • K.C. Ling site work (adding another entry point and changing the traffic flow), new gymnasium, expanding the cafeteria, and more.
  • High School site work (Wallace Field) and more.

Residents may have recently seen surveyors and a boring crew on campus to prepare for these projects. As we move forward, we understand that these projects, when completed, will improve safety, traffic flow, and the overall student experience, but during the construction phase may pose some inconveniences.

Board President Matt Wesener said, “It is exciting to look around the district and see signs of the significant changes that are coming to Hemlock over the next few years.  These upgrades and updates will impact every building and provide more opportunities for all our students.”

These projects are part of a multi-phase series that voters approved in May 2022. These projects will be the most significant scale additions and improvements the district has seen since the current school buildings were originally constructed.
