Update

Greetings Huskie Pack:

The days of the school year are dwindling to a precious few, yet the excitement of learning still fills our classrooms and school buildings. This week is always a favorite of mine as we join the nation and celebrate teachers (May 2-6, 2022). As a parent of four Hemlock Huskies, two graduates and two currently attending, I can attest firsthand that our teachers are amazing!

Spring sports are in full swing, and we have several fine arts events on the calendar from the MS Play Pom-Pom Zombies on May 5th, 6th, and 7th or the Love of the Arts on May 10th from 4-9 PM, or the Spring Band Concert at the park on Sunday, May 15th  at 2 PM.

The district has a rich history of honoring individual accomplishments and contributions over the years, but recently launching the Huskie Hall of Fame will add another opportunity. It is impressive to see how many alumni of Hemlock High School have gone on to accomplish big things, along with those that give of their time, energy, and efforts to make the school a better place for students. By now, you may have heard that Hemlock Public School District voters have approved our May 3rd ballot initiative.  The work done in the coming years will impact every student, every classroom, every school building, and our entire school district and community will be positively affected.

Moving forward in 2022, we have a bigger and bolder vision for our school district and our students. We have worked hand in hand with our stakeholders crafting our strategic and master plan; like pages of a good novel, these future pages of our story are meant to be read.

Until we talk again, be safe, be well, all the best,

Don Killingbeck, Superintendent
