I just want to say thank you.
When sudden safety concerns arise, like they did earlier this afternoon, there isn't always much time to prepare. We rely on our training, our protocols, and most importantly, on people working together.
Today, our team went right into action. Our staff followed our safety protocols, our students responded appropriately, and our parents and families were absolutely awesome. You gave us the time and space we needed to focus on one thing: keeping our students and staff safe.
That kind of response matters, and we are grateful.
While I am at it, I also want to give a special thank you to Chris Easlick from WNEM. Chris personally called the district to make sure we were aware of the developing weather situation and to check on Hemlock Public School District and our safety. That is community partnership at its best, and we greatly appreciated it.
Days like today remind us that safety really is a team effort. We will continue to review, practice, learn, and improve, but I am incredibly thankful for the way our students, staff, parents, families, and community partners responded today.
Thank you for trusting us, supporting our team, and working alongside us when it matters most.
