At Hemlock Public School District, we are continuing to strengthen how we support every student so they get what they need, when they need it. This next phase of our work focuses on improving how we provide extra help, enrichment, and support across all schools, with greater clarity, consistency, and responsiveness to student needs.
As we plan for next year and evaluate our strengths and weaknesses, we recognize that as we grow in student count and in the ways we support our students, our team needs to evolve. We are taking an approach we have used successfully at times, but one we don’t always use when recruiting the best talent to fill positions.
We have multiple MTSS-related positions posted with the understanding that we may not fill every role as posted. Instead, this process allows us to identify the strongest candidates, build the right combination of talent, and develop a delivery system and programming that aligns with our retooled team. Posting positions is a normal and healthy part of building strong systems. It allows us to match skills to student needs in the most intentional way possible. It also does not detract from the incredible work already underway across our district. Our current staff is valued, respected, and a critical part of this work moving forward.
