Hemlock Public School District is proud to recognize Angela Pohl, Athletic Director at Hemlock High School, for earning the Certified Athletic Administrator (CAA) designation from the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA). Pohl received the certification this past weekend during the Michigan Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (MIAAA) Annual Conference.
The CAA designation is a national board certification that recognizes athletic administrators who demonstrate a strong commitment to professional growth, leadership, and the advancement of educational athletics. Earning this credential reflects a dedication to serving student athletes, coaches, schools, and communities at the highest level.
In order to earn the certification, Pohl successfully completed five intensive Leadership Training Courses, each lasting four hours, and passed a comprehensive 100 question national certification exam. The credential requires a significant investment of time, study, and professional engagement within the field of athletic administration.
“Angela’s accomplishment reflects her commitment to improve,” said district leadership. “At Hemlock Public School District, we encourage all of our staff to pursue professional learning, training, and credentialing that help them grow as leaders. Angela’s work exemplifies that commitment.”
The recognition is particularly notable given the select group of administrators who hold the credential. Pohl is now one of only 127 active athletic directors in Michigan who hold the Certified Athletic Administrator designation.
The Michigan Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association praised Pohl’s achievement and her commitment to the profession. Leaders from the organization noted that the certification reflects a continued investment in professional excellence and a commitment to strengthening athletic programs that support student growth and development.
At Hemlock Public School District, athletics play an important role in building leadership, teamwork, and resilience among students. District leaders say Pohl’s achievement reinforces the district’s broader commitment to investing in people who help students succeed both on and off the field.
Hemlock Public School District congratulates Angela Pohl on this significant professional milestone and thanks her for her continued leadership and dedication to the Huskie Pack.
