Abby

The Hemlock Huskies will be working to grow and improve their early childhood programming during this next school year. The district developed and implemented the current early childhood program in 2014 and has expanded service, classrooms, and offerings several times since its conception.

The district has named Abby King as Interim Early Childhood Director and looks to fill that role permanently before the start of the next school year. Abby King is no stranger to the school district as she has worked as the lead teacher of our primary childcare program since its launch in 2014. She brings a wealth of experience to this role having previously taught at Nouvel Catholic Central Elementary and with an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education in 2007 from Saginaw Valley and a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Saginaw Valley.

Principal Lori Gensch said “We are excited to have Abby serve as the Interim Early Childhood Director.  Abby brings a wealth of knowledge to our program and has offered several suggestions for the continuous improvement of our offerings.”

The district is committed to serving the children and families of our community by providing high quality, educational sound, and safe place to be for children in their growing years. The demand for care and preschool is extremely high with waitlists. The district is committed to expanding and providing service to as many children and families as possible. Currently, the district is reviewing preschool schedules, pricing, facility, curriculum, and staffing to make our families experience even better.

Superintendent Don KIllingbeck said “The future of our early childhood programming is bright with many great things on the horizon. We are fortunate to have many talented and gifted caregivers and educators and will work to expand.”
