Hemlock Public School District is proud to announce that Lindy Beckman, Director of Curriculum and Instruction, has been named an Award Winner in the District Administration Leadership Institute (DALI) 2025 Women of Distinction. This honor is part of District Administration’s national Awards of Distinction program, which recognizes exceptional women leaders in K–12 education who demonstrate excellence, innovation, and impact.

Board President Matt Wesener added, “Lindy Beckman leads with purpose and clarity. She’s helping our district sharpen what matters most: consistent, high-quality instruction and a culture where every student is known, supported, and provided with all available tools to succeed. We’re proud of her and grateful for the leadership she brings to Hemlock.”

Beckman brings 27 years of educational experience to Hemlock, with a career rooted in special education, STEM-embedded instruction, and districtwide systems leadership. She joined Hemlock Public School District in January 2025 and quickly began strengthening alignment across MTSS, Title programming, and state and federal initiatives—work designed to support educators and improve outcomes for every student.

In her first year at Hemlock, Beckman elevated chronic absenteeism as a district priority by implementing an early warning system to identify students at risk, while also launching a comprehensive New Teacher Academy and supporting professional development focused on explicit instruction and high-yield strategies. Her leadership reflects the Awards of Distinction’s emphasis on leadership excellence and advocacy for equity and opportunity.

“Lindy is the kind of leader who makes an immediate impact because she combines vision with action,” said Superintendent Don Killingbeck Jr., Ed.D. “She builds trust, strengthens systems, and—most importantly—helps educators grow so students thrive. Hemlock is better because she’s here.”

A colleague shared, “Lindy doesn’t just introduce initiatives—she rolls up her sleeves and helps people do the work well. Teachers feel supported, expectations are clear, and the focus stays where it belongs: on students.”

The District Administration Leadership Institute is a national leadership organization serving superintendents and senior district leaders. District Administration’s Women of Distinction recognition honors women whose leadership strengthens educational opportunity and empowers others across the field of education.
