Hemlock Elementary and the Early Childhood Center are celebrating the holiday season with a variety of festive events, joyful traditions, and meaningful learning experiences. Students and staff have been preparing activities that bring our school family together, highlight student talents, and spread holiday cheer throughout the community.
Two holiday programs will showcase the hard work of our youngest learners. The Young Fives program will be held on Wednesday, December 16th at 6:00 p.m. in the Ling Multipurpose Room, and the Kindergarten program will take place on Friday, December 19th at 1:00 p.m. in the Legacy Gymnasium at Hemlock High School. These programs are open to the families of participating students, any information about the programs will be shared through classroom communication. Both performances will feature singing and celebration as students share the songs they have been practicing.
The Early Childhood Center is hosting its first annual Holiday Family Night for preschool and early childhood families. Activities will take place primarily in the Elementary Cafeteria, and families who returned RSVPs will enjoy crafts, treats, and hands on fun. The event offers our littlest Huskies an opportunity to explore, play, and spend time with their teachers outside the classroom in a warm and welcoming environment.
Throughout December, Hemlock Elementary students are participating in a school wide kindness initiative called Give the Gift of Kindness. Each class is taking part in daily challenges that encourage students to use good manners, help keep our school clean, and practice friendship skills. The school is also celebrating a festive spirit week with dress up days such as green and red day and pajama day.
The Hemlock Elementary and KC Ling PTO is hosting the annual Holiday Shop from Monday, December 8th through Thursday, December 11th. Students will attend with their classes to browse a wide assortment of gifts, select items for family members, and wrap their purchases to take home for the holidays.
Kindergarten teacher McKenzie Wilhelmsen shared how much she looks forward to this time of year. She said, "I absolutely love the holidays, and it is so fun to see the excitement on the kids' faces. These events bring our school community together and give students so many joyful learning opportunities."
Hemlock Elementary and the Early Childhood Center are proud to celebrate the season with traditions that emphasize connection, creativity, and kindness. The coming weeks promise to be memorable for our Husky families.
