Hemlock Public School District is proud to announce the appointment of Amanda Sensabaugh as the new Assistant Principal serving both Hemlock Elementary and K.C. Ling Elementary Schools beginning with the 2025–2026 school year.
This decision follows an extensive, multi-step hiring process that drew more than 20 qualified applicants from across the region. Finalists participated in comprehensive interviews with panels of staff, administrators, and even elementary students. After a rigorous review, the district selected Sensabaugh for her deep understanding of instructional leadership, her passion for early education, and her commitment to the Hemlock community.
Superintendent Dr. Don Killingbeck shared his enthusiasm, stating, “Amanda represents the very best of what it means to be a Huskie: she’s caring, knowledgeable, and relentlessly focused on doing what’s best for students. She’s already had a tremendous impact on our schools as a classroom teacher. We are thrilled to see her take on this new leadership role, and I have all confidence she will continue to make a lasting difference.”
Amanda Sensabaugh has spent the past thirteen years in public education, including the eleven with Hemlock Public School District. Her experience spans grades one through four, and her leadership has been evident in mentoring new educators, helping with professional development, and contributing to district-level curriculum and instructional committees. She completed her graduate work in Educational Leadership at Saginaw Valley State University.
In her own words, Amanda Sensabaugh shared, “I’m honored and humbled to step into this role. Hemlock is home, and it means so much to continue serving the students, staff, and families I’ve come to know and love. I believe in the power of education to transform lives, and I’m committed to supporting our team in creating safe, positive, and high-achieving learning environments for all kids.”
Board of Education President Matt Wesener echoed the district’s excitement, “It’s always a proud moment when we can cultivate leadership from within our own district. Amanda has been an outstanding teacher and a trusted member of our school community for years. We’re excited to see her carry that same excellence, dedication, and student-first mindset into her new role as Assistant Principal. This is a great step forward for our schools and our students.”
As Assistant Principal, Sensabaugh will work alongside building Principal Cory Snider to support instructional excellence, student success, and a culture of care across the district’s elementary buildings.
