Dear Parents & Community Members,

As spring arrives in Michigan, we find ourselves surrounded by fresh air and rising temperatures, echoing our excitement to finish the school year strong.  This week marks Teacher Appreciation Week, and we invite you to join us in celebrating our amazing teachers.  Please take a moment to send your favorite teacher a message, letting them know the impact they make every day.

We are currently in full tilt with our construction projects, aiming to wrap up phase one, which includes the K.C. Ling Elementary Gymnasium and other exciting developments.  Over the summer, we will fine-tune the west side of our campus while the projects on the east side, including the theater, gymnasium, *STEM Center Expansion, and a concession stand at the baseball, softball, and soccer complex, continue to pick up steam.  Additionally, we’re moving forward with the *Patrick Wolgast Field House project.  Apart from the bond, these projects represent *significant donations or other funding sources as we work to #PULLTHESLED and lessen the burden on our local residents.

We are eagerly preparing to celebrate the Class of 2024 at their graduation ceremony on Thursday, May 23rd at Wallace Field at 7:00 p.m.  Our students never cease to amaze me, whether it’s the Robotics team winning the State Championship, the outstanding middle and high school spring plays, or the high level of competition on our athletic fields.  The Huskies certainly know how to pull the sled.

We have an important election concerning our non-homestead millage in August.  I invite you to visit our website to learn more, and please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have questions about this or any other topics.

We’re also excited to partner with the Richland Township police, with Officer Randy patrolling our campus daily.  The Saginaw County Health Department has added a Health Resource Advocate to facilitate increased activity for both students and adults.  In partnership with Saginaw ISD, we now have a full-time Mental Health Practitioner to assist our students.  Additionally, we’ve teamed up with a company to provide Hemlock Crisis Line available 24/7 for students and parents, ensuring that our students have support around the clock.

Let’s continue to support our students, teachers, and community as we wrap up this school year

Sincerely,

Don Killingbeck Jr., Ed.D., Superintendent
