The Hemlock Public School District is thrilled to announce the remarkable achievements of its Powerlifting team in the recent Millington Meet held on January 27, 2024. Led by Coach Tyler Zolinski, the Hemlock Powerlifting team has shattered records and reached historic milestones, showcasing the dedication, skill, and determination of its talented athletes.
The Hemlock Powerlifting team witnessed an unprecedented turnout, with the most girls in Hemlock history joining the ranks:

At the Millington Meet, the Hemlock Powerlifting team displayed outstanding performances:
• Kassandra Hensler achieved personal records in all her lifts and debuted with a stellar first meet.
• Alyssa Stiverson excelled with personal records in all her lifts, demonstrating exceptional performance in her weight class.
• Hunter Gage set a new personal record in his Deadlift and secured 9th place out of 25 in the 181 class.
• Sean Grove achieved personal records in his bench and deadlift, finishing 8th out of 28 in the 194 class.
• Trevan Swanson's flawless lifts earned him 5th place out of 26 in the 165 class, qualifying him for the State Championship Meet.
• Gabe Messing's impressive debut secured 2nd place out of 24 in the 220 class, qualifying him for the State Championship Meet.
• The JV boys united to achieve Hemlock's first-ever team finish at 14 out of 33 schools.
• Cole Wesener clinched 3rd place in the 220 Varsity class, earning a spot in the State Championship Meet.
Superintendent Don Killingbeck commended the team's achievements, remarking, "The Hemlock Powerlifting team's success is a testament to their talent, discipline, and the support of our dedicated coaching staff. We are proud of their accomplishments and look forward to cheering them on as they continue to excel."
The Hemlock Powerlifting team's next challenge awaits them on February 24, 2024, at Dexter High School. The Hemlock community eagerly anticipates the team's continued success as they strive for new heights in the upcoming meet.
