STEM Center

The Hemlock Public School District is proud to announce the awarding of the Lockwood STEM Center expansion project to Pumford Construction. This expansion is a strategic move to meet the increasing demand for the center and the variety of programs it hosts.

Superintendent Don Killingbeck highlighted the importance of the expansion: "In today’s rapidly evolving world, it is imperative that we equip our students with the skills and knowledge to succeed. The expanded Lockwood STEM Center will be a hub of learning and creativity, helping to nurture the next generation of scientists, engineers, and innovators."

The decision by the Board of Education to expand the Lockwood STEM Center underscores the district's ongoing commitment to providing cutting-edge educational opportunities. The expansion is designed to cater to the growing interest and participation in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) programs, ensuring that students have the resources and space necessary to thrive in these critical fields.

Board President Matt Wesener expressed enthusiasm about the project: "The expansion of the Lockwood STEM Center is a clear reflection of our commitment to forward-thinking education. We are preparing our students for their future, not our past. This state-of-the-art facility will be a cornerstone in that journey, offering unparalleled opportunities for exploration, innovation, and discovery."

The expansion will provide much-needed space to accommodate the diverse range of programs and activities that the Lockwood STEM Center supports. It will feature advanced laboratories, collaborative workspaces, and technology-enhanced classrooms, all designed to foster a conducive learning environment.

The Hemlock Public School District is grateful to Pumford Construction for its partnership in this endeavor and looks forward to the positive impact this expansion will have on its students and the broader community.
