Alex Haltom, a Hemlock native and alumnus of Hemlock Public School District, has been instrumental in guiding the district's technological advancements, particularly in the challenging post-pandemic era. Holding his current position for over two years, Mr. Haltom has been a critical figure in embracing and integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into the school's curriculum and operations. His leadership in AI adoption and his work with Superintendent Don Killingbeck and Principal Josh Chase in authoring a book and hosting a podcast on AI and educational technology highlight his forward-thinking approach.
Board President Matt Wesener added, "Alex represents dedication and innovation. His journey from a student in our district to leading its technological transformation is inspiring and indicative of his deep commitment to our community and its future."
Among his significant achievements, Mr. Haltom oversaw projects providing free internet access on school buses and students' homes, demonstrating his commitment to ensuring digital equity for all students. His hands-on involvement as a coach for the school's FIRST Robotics team and the varsity boy's tennis team further exemplifies his dedication to student engagement and development beyond traditional educational settings.
