Anna Election

Hemlock Public School District proudly announces that Anna Wamack, the Director of Business Operations and Human Resources, has been appointed Officer-Elect with Michigan School Business Officials (MSBO). This prestigious position marks a significant recognition of Wamack's expertise and leadership in the field of school finance.

In her role as Officer-Elect, Wamack will play a pivotal role in guiding the School Finance Services Committee, one of eight committees within MSBO. Notably, the School Finance Services Committee is the sole committee focused exclusively on school finance, addressing critical issues related to state and federal programs, human resources, compensation, insurance, and fringe benefits administration.

Wamack's commitment to advancing the understanding and implementation of sound financial practices in education is evident in her appointment to this esteemed position. As the Officer-Elect, Wamack will serve a crucial role in the committee's efforts to address various aspects of school finance, including audit, accounting, budgeting, investments, purchasing, school aid, and state and federal programs on funding, reporting, vocational education, special education, student services, and grants. The committee also oversees human resource and compensation issues, such as negotiations, arbitration, labor issues, risk management, insurance matters, and fringe benefit administration.

Anna Wamack shared her thoughts on the appointment, saying, "I am honored to be appointed as Officer-Elect with MSBO and to contribute to the critical work of the School Finance Services Committee. This role allows me to further advocate for sound financial practices that positively impact not only our district but schools across Michigan. I look forward to collaborating with my colleagues and contributing to the advancement of education through effective financial management."

The appointment as Officer-Elect is a stepping stone for Wamack's leadership journey within MSBO. Over the next cycle, she is slated to move to the position of Secretary, followed by Vice Chair, and ultimately, in five years, to the esteemed role of Chairperson for the School Finance Services Committee.

Superintendent Don Killingbeck expressed his congratulations, stating, "Anna Wamack's appointment reflects her exceptional dedication to the field of school finance. We are proud to have her expertise contributing to the development and enhancement of financial practices within our district and beyond."

As a dedicated professional with a wealth of experience in school finance and human resources, Wamack's appointment is a testament to her commitment to the advancement of education and the well-being of students.
