This teacher has been a Huskie for life, and he is proud of it as well.  Mr. Jeremy Stedry, Hemlock Alum, teaches 8th grade Algebra and Finance here at Hemlock Middle School.  Mr. Stedry is currently in his 10th year of teaching at Hemlock, all of it at the middle school. Prior to teaching at Hemlock, he taught for a half year in the Saginaw Public School District as the 6-8 math teacher at Zilwaukee School.

Mr. Stedry grew up right here in Hemlock and graduated high school in 2006.  Jeremy grew up in the country between Freeland and Hemlock and currently resides in Midland with his wife Jenna.  His wife is also a teacher and teaches elementary art at Freeland Schools. They have two dogs, a corgi named Paislie and a labrador named Hattie.  They also have a calico cat named Quinn.

When asked about his proudest moment, Mr. Stedry said “I don’t think I could really pinpoint one moment in time, it’s more of an overall feel.  It’s the little things that add up, such as visits from old students.”  He went on to say his favorite thing about HMS is “…the strong relationships built.  The camaraderie amongst one another continues to stay strong.”

Mr. Stedrys’ involvement in vintage baseball is one of his favorite hobbies.  He plays with a club called the Bay City Independents.  They play using the rules of the 1860’s with wood bats, no gloves, and funny uniforms.  “It has been a great experience, along with allowing us to travel around the country. We have played at Navin Field (old Tiger Stadium)”.   Mr. Stedrys’ favorite quote is “Tell me and I forget.  Teach me and I remember.  Involve me and I learn.” - Benjamin Franklin

We are so thankful that you are on our team Mr. Stedry.
