NEW INFORMATION -     

Christmas Dance-is today December 18th from 2:45 - 4:30.  You must be grade and discipline eligible and you can not have any overdue library books to attend the dance.  Wristbands will be sold during first hour. The cost for the dance is $3.00 if you are dressed in a Christmas theme and $4.00 if not.  You will not be given another wristband if you lose it before the dance.

Hemlock Band Program- cordially invites you to our annual Christmas Concert on Wednesday December 19th beginning at 7:00 pm in the Hemlock High School gymnasium. There will be a reception following the concert in the High School student center. We are asking for each band member in grades 7 through 12 to bring a dozen cookies to share, and for 6th grade members to bring a case of water.

7th and 8th Grade Bands should wear their band polo, khaki pants, and nice dress shoes.  The 6th grade band should dress in nice dress clothes. The HS band will be in full concert black.

Call Times:

HS Band should report for a 6pm warm up and percussion should report at 5pm.  MS Should report at 6:30pm and place belongings in designated area and then be seated in the bleachers.  Remember, the concert is at the High School gymnasium.

 

Pajama Day Fundraiser- Disc Golf Club will be holding another fundraiser Friday, December 21st. For $1.00 you will have the privilege of wearing your comfy pajamas all day on your  last day before Christmas break. Remember they must be school appropriate.

 

Winter Wonderland Night- Enjoy a night of basketball (tonight) December 18th.  Frosh Boys starting @ 4:30 p.m., Varsity Girls starting @ 6 p.m.,  Varsity Boys @ 7:30 p.m.. Meet Santa Clause from 5:30-7:30.

 

Baseball Holiday Camp-  Northwood University is hosting a 13 and under baseball camp December 27th & 28th at their University Turf Building.  Special Guest Instructors will include current MLB players. Registration forms are in the office.

SPORTS/CLUBS-

8th grade girls basketball- finished the season as strong as they started. Last night the girls defeated Alma 50 - 20. They finish the year with an outstanding record of 11-1.

As a coach I could have never asked more of these 9 girls. I am so proud of each and every one of the girls. They were amazing all year, giving their best in every practice and every game. They are dedicated and love the game....and it showed whenever they took the court. I want to thank my girls for a wonderful season. But most important thank you for showing the true meaning of  "team." I will miss watching our dominate the court, but most important I will miss what we have been, "TOGETHER." - Love - Coach Olinger.

Their stats for last night rocked the court.

Reagan Finkbeiner "Rags, " scored 15 points and had 9 steals.

Breanna Turner, "Cupid," had 10 points and 5 steals.

Chloe "Weseasl" Watson ended the season with 8 points and 4 steals.

Ella "Pips" Wardlow finished with 7 points and 7 rebounds.

Izzy "Zeik" Loucks dominated under the basket with 10 rebounds and 2 points.

\Alyssa "Smiles" Dearman finished her last game with 4 points.

Charli "Charles" Munger put up 2 points as well as Averi "Smalls" Hall. And

Morgan "Walle" gave it her all to end the season.

Congratulations girls - you've earned it!

7th grade- lady Huskies dropped their final game of the season Monday night at home 30-25.

Neither team could manage more than a 3 point lead throughout the whole game until Alma got 2 steals and easy lay up’s to go up by 7 with 2 minutes to go. The Huskies could only manage 2 free throws in the final 2 minutes for the final score.

Riley Lafrance led the Huskies with 11 points and Sophia Hauffe scored 6. Mya Wunsch chipped in 4 points and  Emma Striech and Jaedyn Mallek finished off the scoring with points each.Thank you ladies for a great season!

7th and 8th Grade Robotics- final meeting for this school year will be Thursday December 20th from 3 p.m.- 4 p.m..

3) Pay sports registration fee before 1st game

Currently, we only show 8 boys signed up for the 7th grade team and 13 signed up for the 8th grade. We need to solidify numbers ASAP. Get registered NOW!

Important Dates/Times:

1) First practice date will be Monday, January 7th.

  • 7th grade will practice 3-4:30pm

  • 8th grade will practice 4:30-6pm

2) The boys basketball parent/athlete meeting will take place on Monday,January 14th at 4:30pm.

3) Team/Individual Pictures will be Tuesday, January 15th starting at 4:30pm.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Box Tops- Please clip any box tops from home and drop them off in the office.

Mornings-on days when it's 32 degrees or below, or snowing,  you are allowed inside due to weather, 5th graders sitting at their lockers in their hallway, 6th graders sitting at their lockers in their hallway, 7th graders seated on north side tables in cafeteria, 8th graders in lobby. Remain there until 7:45 when bell rings.

Breakfast and lunch rules-everyone is expected to finish their meal in the cafeteria and dispose of all trash before leaving the cafeteria. Respect our building by keeping it litter free inside and out.

Ala carte Specials- starting today  you will be able to purchase Sparkling Ice flavors for $1.25 (thursday only), and on Friday cookies one for $.75 or two for $1.00.  You must have money on your account or cash.
