Hemlock Students Practice Safety First

Hemlock Public District is committed to providing a safe and friendly learning-focused environment. The school district has a strong partnership with the community safety organizations.

On August 26, 2018, the Richland Township Police and Fire Department in cooperation with Hemlock Public School District hosted a public safety drill. Fifteen of our students and thirty public safety members came into the school to practice a simulated live situation drill. The first responders were able to tour the building and work with students needing assistance.

Principal Keith Green said, “The number 1 job that we have in our school is to provide a safe learning environment for our students.  This drill has better prepared our first responders that will assist them and give the best possible service in an unthinkable situation.

Superintendent Killingbeck noted, “This is an example of our community working together to keep our children safe and be prepared and ready in an emergency."
