HHS principal Keith Green gives a number of school tours to new students and their parents.

“It’s always a joy to point out all of the good stuff that’s going on in our high school,” he said. “People are amazed to find out we offer such a wide range of college prep and career path opportunities in our small, friendly setting.”

On Friday, October 25, Mr. Green had the pleasure of welcoming new student Oleksandr Honcharov from the Ukraine. Oleksandr is part of a foreign studies program where he will attend several high schools in the U.S. He arrived in Hemlock after completing his semester in Texas.

“We probably do things much differently than a Texas high school,” noted Mr. Green. “But I could tell Oleksandr liked what he saw and quickly got comfortable. He’ll do well here. Our staff and student body are great. Plus, our Michigan weather this time of year is more like what he’s used to. I think he’ll feel right at home.”

Welcome to Hemlock, Oleksandr!
