Welcome to Hemlock Food Service! We have 9 dedicated food service employees ensuring that your child receives healthy and well balanced meals. Hemlock uses Meal Magic as our P.O.S system. This offers an ongoing account for each student detailing their account history. You can deposit money into your child's account in two ways. One way is to log on to SendMoneyToSchool.com(there is a $2.00 per transaction fee) or send in cash or check made out to Hemlock Public Schools/ Hemlock Food Service. In the memo area please write the student(s) name and allocated dollar amount. Low balance email reminders are sent out to everyone who has an email address on file with the district. This is an automated reminder letting you know that your students balance is falling below three days worth of lunch charges and may need additional funds added. We suggest and encourage you to fill out a free/reduced meal application if you think you may qualify for this benefit. This benefit not only includes lunches but breakfast as well. Please log in to LunchApp.com or pick up paper copies in every school office.
Due to the Healthy Hunger-Free Act of 2010 the National School Lunch Program has mandated several changes to school menus. We have implemented them and will continue to do so every year. This is intended to educate children for healthier eating habits and help to control childhood obesity issues. Some of these changes include more fruits and vegetables, whole grain products, lower sodium, no trans fats, and calorie and saturated fat maximums per age level. We are an offer vs serve lunch program at all four schools.
We have a NO CHARGING policy for meals. We understand the occasional forgotten lunch money or packed lunch but we expect the student to pay back their charge in full the following day. We have a 3 day charge limit in force this year. If the student fails to pay their charges within this time frame they may be offered an alternative meal and charged for it until their negative balance is rectified. If your family is having a hardship please contact me directly to make arrangements. Please ensure that your student always has money on their account.
